Quaint town, downtown has several historic and interesting shops. The hardware store is a must see for husbands while the wives enjoy several other shops. My only regret, two restaurants we wanted to try closed in the early afternoon.

Very clean city with good food and bars.

Very clean city with good food and bars. Loved the river boat tour also. Ate at T Johnny's. Decent burger but meat was a little dry. Salad and onion rings were great as was the virgin bloody mary.

If you don't have time to visit New Orleans on your trip, this is a wonderful introduction to that experience. Buildings, river walk, restaurants, music venues, all evoke that unique Louisiana blend of joie de vivre!

This is the oldest settlement in the Louisiana Purchase, making it even a couple of years older than New Orleans! Downtown historic district has dozens of well-preserved antebellum and turn of the century homes. There's the lovely Cane River that runs along downtown, that acts much like a bayou, and the river view is quite pretty. We were there for only 12 hours, so didn't have enough time to fully explore all that was offered, but highly recommend a visit to the Kaffie-Frederick Hardware Store that's been in operation for over 160 years--it's a time capsule combined with a legit hardware and toy store. Several movies have been made in the city, including "Steel Magnolias." We plan to return for a long weekend in the near future.

The city has always been a favorite place for me .December 5 was my husband’s birthday and he died last September and I wanted to go and celebrate his memory in heaven.City didn’t disappoint .Beautiful lights and great food

We loved the location of the hotel, we were able to walk everywhere. The town is fun, and places to eat were wonderful. There were several places offering delivery as well. We did go during a holiday weekend when the town had activities going on. It would be the perfect place to stay in December the town is all about Christmas and even though it was October they were putting lights up.
