Breakfast was simple Yogurt & Fruit & Juices. The microwave was useful and the waitress wonderfully helpful. The large bedroom had enormously high ceilings and a huge brand new (yet tiled to look old) bathroom. The hallways and museum rooms were fascinating to explore - its a gorgeously complicated old building being very well maintained and restored.

The location was perfect. Easy access to the Interstate and to downtown Canastota to dine out. Re: the breakfast. It looked fine, however we had plans to meet friends for breakfast nearby so we did not partake.

The hotel is very clean, the double room is so spacious and equipped with enough neccessary facilities. The location is great with Tops groceries in opposite just on the othe side of the road, so everyone can walk in 5'. The hotel is near many beautiful site seeings, falls and trails.

Our stay was wonderful!

Our stay was wonderful! The staff, grounds, rooms and general atmosphere was much nicer than a chain hotel. Be sure to take some time to explore the museum areas and the library. The room was immaculate and we enjoyed exploring the various areas of the mansion. This is a hidden gem which should be experienced by anyone tired of chain hotels.

We were traveling from Canada to Boston so used Oneida as a rest stop before continuing our journey. This is a small pleasant neighbourhood. The community house has a rich history and is worth a visit.

Historic property with 14 charming guest rooms surrounded by...

Historic property with 14 charming guest rooms surrounded by lovely grounds. It was a nice change of pace instead of staying at a hotel chain. The room was clean and comfortable with a spacious floorplan and modern bathroom fixtures. Staff was incredibly welcoming and personable. As a functioning museum, the property is open to the public for tours. Guests can explore all the rooms at leisure. Hardwood floors, banister stairs, steam heating, glass pane windows, transoms, high ceilings, and a library with a full sky light ceiling are just some of the interesting features. Make sure to take the guided tour with Tim, he was very knowledgeable and provided plenty of commentary. My visit was off-season and I feel like I had the entire place to myself, not really hearing or seeing other guests. Other reviews knock the breakfast options. Yes, it is continental, but do not let that be a deal breaker. The charm of the property is well worth the tradeoff! The property also is a short drive to both Vernon Downs Casino and Turning Stone Casino. Oneida Mansion was a great alternative with a short distance from the casino crowds.

THE AREA OF THIS PROPERTY WAS LOCATED IN LOVELY SHERILL, NY. WE ENJOYED WALKING, PLAYED GOLF ATTENDED CHURCH SERVICES, HAD A HOT BREAKFAST AND COFFEE ON OUR WAY OUT OF TOWN. WE WERE HAPPY TO HAVE STAYED HERE FOR THE WEDDING WE ATTENDED IN THE COUNTRY.
