The Holiday Inn express & Suites Pensacola Airport North at I-10 is a wonderful hotel. We were visiting to attend the Blue Angels Homecoming show. I am not sure if many traveling spectators, would choose or chose this hotel but it worked perfectly for our needs. We were booked in a king size room. Staff greeted us promptly and were professional and personable. Our room was nicely appointed with a half size refrigerator, microwave, single serve coffee machine with coffee and tea single serve cups. The room felt modern. There is plenty of lighting and an excellent amount of USB ports and electric outlets that are very accessible. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with Dove products at the sink and in the shower. I had read other reviewers rave about the breakfast. And I assure you all the positive feedback is warranted. The breakfast options included cereal, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, French toast, egg, white, omelettes, turkey, sausage, bacon, hot biscuits, bagels, cinnamon roll, muffins, other pastries, three types of juice, and a coffee station. The breakfast was included with our hotel stay and worked well so we would not have to waste time with additional stops on our way to the venue. I wish we had stayed long enough to use the pool or the fitness center. But they are there for your use should you want them. The only criticism I have is that the toilet seems to have loosened from the tile floor in our bathroom. I hope the hotel makes the necessary repair. We would recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

Pensacola is a beautiful city and has changed a lot since I was there last. Our favorite places we visited were the boardwalk and the Pensacola Lighthouse. We really enjoyed eating at Waldos. Their chicken fingers entree is so delicious.

My family wanted to have a bbq durring our stay. So we were happy to find out that there was a gas grill onsite. The grill was located on an outdoor patio with tables, chairs, and umbrellas. I liked that guests do not need to reserve the grill ahead of time and that there were no time restrictions on using the grilling area. Also the staff provided a box of seasings to choose from as well as all the grilling utensils. All of this worked out wonderfully for us since cooking out was a spontaneous idea.

This place is packed with history and culture.

This place is packed with history and culture. The historic lighthouse and the Naval Aviation Museum are a must-see (use the WEST GATE! Civilians without military ID are not allowed through the east/main gate as of this writing). The Pensacola Bay City Ferry is a great way to spend a morning, especially if you want to see the Blue Angels practice overhead (young children might want something for ear protection, jet fighters are LOUD). Far too many unique restaurants to mention, plus very many national chains you probably know and love (for me, Cheddar's); though be prepared for the "tourist tax" anywhere near the beach. Budget options exist but you have to look and sometimes get creative with how you order. Cordova Mall is huge and an easy way to spend an entire day. Pensacola Christian College has a planetarium that is absolutely awesome, with many different presentations worth the time and $7 ticket (as of the time of this writing). Getting around is easy enough by car, provided you keep your head on a swivel. The locals drive at least as crazy as you do where you're from. Most restaurants and shopping are walkable from most hotels. Escambia County Public Beach is out-of-the-way, peaceful, not full of bars or tourist-traps, and like 12 minutes from the west gate of the Navy base. Great place to walk, swim, surf, etc.

Pensacola is a beautiful city and one with real southern charm. Many of the neighborhoods are beautiful and there is a lot to be done in the area to keep visitors entertained. The restaurant selection in Pensacola is good and the traffic isn't bad. I think it is a great southern city.

Quietwater Beach was great.

Quietwater Beach was great. Naval Aviation museum was closed due to the middle east tensions, but still saw the blue angels practicing. The Alabama battleship museum (in nearby Mobile AL,) was awesome. Zoo was worth it. 'Shrimp Basket' and 'Pegleg Pete's' had good food.

Next time, I would stay in Pensacola Beach. Overall, shopping wasn't great, food was great. Enjoyed Flounders, CJ'S Grill, Another broken Egg. Aunt Katie's wad having a bad day, but staff was excellent.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The house was simply beautiful, a brand new place with all the little touches to make it exceptional. The hosts were ahead of our every request, from beach chairs to restaurant recommendations and everything in between. The neighborhood is walkable with lots of parks, a short drive to downtown and the beaches. Loved EVERYTHING! We definitely plan to be back!
