The location is perfect, stores and Hungry Hut directly across the street, they have really good breakfast and a beer garden. We were able to sit outside and listen to some live music.There was a washer and dryer, made it so much easier after a lake day. Propane fire pit was perfect for snores at night. Was stocked with DVD’s and board games. The house was perfect for our weekend getaway.

Check-in was contactless, and the directions to access room were clear. Beautiful room (Sequoia suite) in a beautiful area. Well beyond our expectations, room had quaint little touches with a sitting area in room, and outside door on porch, and a gas fireplace that is the center of the room. King sized bed, kitchenette area with fridge, microwave, and coffee maker with all the necessary items for coffee, along with bottled water and snacks. Bathroom had a spa tub, and lovely amenities like fancy soap, and shampoo & conditioner. Blow dryer mounted on wall, and a shaving mirror too! This place has everything you need. Let's talk ambiance. This lovely little set of cabins is so well maintained, you can be assured a good cabin no matter which room you choose. Several Lovely areas to sit and enjoy nature, and easy to walk to main house where breakfast is served. Beautiful dining area serving a great continental selection including Oatmeal, cereal, fruit, muffins, bagels and in the freezer there were waffles, breakfast sandwiches, and burritos! Juice, milk, oatmilk, and a fully stocked coffee and tea bar with all the necessities! This place went out of it's way to think of anything needed. I will be recommending this place to everyone I know!

The caretaker was very accommodating and so as Crystal. I liked the kitchen space. We booked different rooms but they gave us one big room to occupy 12 people instead, which I asked. The place is calm and quiet. You can hike also around the area. Overall our stay is excellent!

What a hidden gem just minutes from China Peak mountain! We were immediately impressed by the hospitality of the staff, the room was a perfect size with plenty of privacy, a nice hot shower and an excellent wall heater. Beds were so cozy and the entire room was very clean. We loved the fridge, microwave and easy to use coffee maker. Also the restaurant/bar had great drinks and food.

We have been coming to Shaver Lake every summer for about 10...

We have been coming to Shaver Lake every summer for about 10 years. We keep our pontoon boat in one of the local marinas. It is our favorite lake in California - perfect for boating, swimming, fishing & water sports. We usually camp at Camp Edison in our travel trailer and love it there, but their online reservation system has gotten to be impossible. Another camping alternative with hookups would be delightful. Our main issues revolve around food. It would be great to have a more fully stocked market, and more dining choices.

Edison campground is an ideal spot for RV or tent camping.

Edison campground is an ideal spot for RV or tent camping. All 130+ spots have EV car power charging and 110 v electric on each site. There is a marina on site with boat rentals. The lake at 5300 ft is warm enough for swimming--especially in late July or August. The town, for us, lacked enough places to eat-especially for breakfast. We stayed in the hotel at night, and with our son and family in the campground all day. There is a 2nd campground, Dorabelle, also nice but without a.c. power. Air is clean (except fires). Some other places have a lot more hiking trails. I personally prefer Arnold/Lake Alpine on Highway 4 because I have hiked all the trails on both sides if Highway 4 above 6000 ft.

Great location, we cooked all our meals, because we were there for Christmas and we had a lot of food. Very easy to get around and we just drove around and saw the beautiful scenery. Love it up there.
