Clean, welcoming place that we will definitely be back for another stay! The kids enjoyed the pool a lot. The breakfast was super good. My kids loved making their own waffles 😊 The staff was wonderful! We have to actually come back next weekend to get my son's wallet because the very honest housekeeper turned in my son's wallet that he left there and they gave us a call! Very nice all around place to stay! We most definitely will be back for future adventures with our children!

Shipshewana is a nice town with hard working people.

Shipshewana is a nice town with hard working people. Its nice how everything is close together so there's no need for a lot of travel when you get there. The blue gate theater is beautiful and I saw a wonderful show.

Great shops and awesome flea market.

Great shops and awesome flea market. The Blue Gate Inn location is great for visiting Shipshewana. You don't have to travel far to reach interesting destinations. Mennonite Hof was a great place to visit especially for those who want to learn more about the Amish and Mennonites.

Have loved Shipshewana for years.

Have loved Shipshewana for years. I always look forward to the clip-clop of buggies doing their regular everyday things. Never know what you might find at the flea market and all the other shopping opportunities. It's not just tourist shopping either. Food, clothes, yard decor, indoor and outdoor furniture, canning supplies and so much more for every day living can be found. There's so much to do and see including great concerts at the Blue Gate Performing Arts Center. My husband travel here year round to shop E & S Sales, then top it off with a good Amish dinner. Located just up the street in Middlebury is Das Dutchman Essenhaus, another great destination for dinner and a little tourist shopping.

We went on Friday evening and left Sunday morning.

We went on Friday evening and left Sunday morning. Did not know all businesses close Friday at 5pm and Saturday at 2 pm except for a few restaurants. Nothing is open Sunday. Had we known that we would not have gone on a weekend. The flea market and auctions are open only Tuesday and Thursday. All shops close daily by 5pm Monday - Friday and 2pm Saturday. We did not get to see anything or shop much at all since we were there Friday night and Saturday. The Amish historical museum was fantastic. That was well worth the time.

Slightly disappointed.

Slightly disappointed. We have stayed here MANY times in the past. We still wouldnt stay anywhere else but were mildly disappointed. Every time I book a room I always ask for a room close to an elevator (Since my husband doesnt get around so well). I even asked about the room when I was checking in and she said it wasnt far - it was far! I always look forward to breakfast - this time - eh! I dont know if it was because you went gluten free. Lastly if it is a concert night why does your kitchen close at 9? That makes NO sense since the concert is over at 9. I still love this place for the location and cleanliness but you definatly lost some points this trip.

We are very familiar with Shipshe. because we have relatives in the area. It is a very nice neat clean town and easy to navigate. It would be nice if there were places for breakfast on Sunday mornings - but we understand everything is closed up tight on the Sabbath!! The Hotel 8 by Wyndham could do so much better. room size was o.k. bed was small. Mgr. told us ALL the rooms had queen beds. Carpet felt crunchy and sticky under my feet, so I put my sandals back on!!!!
