Francis gracefully let me check in late. I didn’t have my ringer turned up and missed her calls when she was double checking that I was still arriving. She was polite, warm and just down-right cool. I needed the weekend to recharge and being able to veg, order take-out, and walk down to the beach whenever I felt like it was just what I needed.

When it comes to bang for the buck down at surfside, this is the place! Everything was so clean and neat. The amenities are perfect and the room itself is very comfortable. The keypad was easy to use and the reminders were a useful addition to the stay. We will definitely be using this place again in the future!

Surfside Beach and nearby Freeport (Bryan Beach) and Quintana are underrated diamonds on the Texas Gulf Coast. Great beaches for fishing, crabbing, and beach combing. Water is usually blue-green beyond the breakers and sandy in the swash. Waves are 1-2ft and water is shallow for a good way from shore. All three beaches are never crowded (we've been 6 times ranging from early spring to fall) and it is never packed. Crowds are mostly families and fishermen. Really laid back and chill. We've never had to deal with any rowdy drunks and the amount of jacked up side-by-side utility vehicles is minimal and I've never seen one driving dangerously on the beach like you find in Crystal Beach. The jetties are great for fishing as are the marshes along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Surfside Crabbing Pier is a great place to let kids actually catch a crab. Lake Jackson is 20 minutes by car and has everything you need like a nice Walmart. Galveston is about 45min to an hour depending on where you're going in town. It was an hour drive to eat at Guidos on the Seawall and only 45min to Moody Gardens. San Luis pass is also a great place to fish and beachcomb and only 25 minutes away.

Beach was clean, had adequate trash bins. There were portable toilets but didn't use them so I don't know how sanitary they were. We were within walking distance to the beach but there was vehicle entrance at the end for a fee. Not sure about overnight on the beach. No food venues on the beach-bring your own food and drinks. We ate at the Swamp Shack. Was great food and the pricing was reasonable.

The location was to die for.

The location was to die for. Inside the home was amazing, very relaxing vibes. Plenty of room for our family and the views- WOW! Enjoy the morning sunrise from the huge deck overlooking the Gulf. Enjoy the evenings with some sips of your favorite libation (Bourbon for me). Overall, just relax - you're on vacation. Enjoy the chill vibes. Great chance we'll be back next year.

I have visited Surfside Beach three times, June 2020,...

I have visited Surfside Beach three times, June 2020, September 2021, and June 2026, and have had a great experience every time. The beach is clean, and the water is much clearer than at the beaches in Galveston. I highly recommend Surfside Beach to visitors from Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston. It's an easy drive and well worth the trip for a relaxing beach getaway.

Great sand and they keep it very well cleaned. There are areas where you can drive on the beach and areas where you can't. I think that's a plus. I love that we were able to rent a golf cart (worth every dime!). During the week you have the beach to yourself! Plenty of garbage cans and clean portapots. My only negative is I wished they had more exits/entrances from the beach to the streets. We drove the cart quite a ways before we could find an exit. One of the things I love about Surfside is the police patrolling especially during the night. I've always felt very safe there. I was sad to see the Red Snapper restaurant was closed down. We ate at Sharkey's a lot and the food was incredible! It's so easy to run into Lake Jackson for anything you need. The ladies in my family went for pedicures! It was a blast! I loved watching the big ships come and go on the Intracoastal Waterway! You can see them up close! Amazing! And such a variety of ships. It was the best family vacation we've had in years!

Surfside is a beautiful beach and we love the area we can...

Surfside is a beautiful beach and we love the area we can pay a little to drive our jeep on to. Lots of families with kids. We brought out puppies and waters and snacks. There was enough space to set up our chairs and umbrellas. I would recommend going really early and leaving around 3pm. After that the crowd started to change and it’s no longer as safe for the little ones. Overall I would go again!

I was a little skeptical about renting at this hotel but it was a wonderful choice for our group. The hotel was very accommodating. The staff was really exceptional! The room was very clean, the beds comfortable, and the AC worked great. The free bag of ice each day and free bottled water was very much appreciated. The restaurant next door was delicious and the staff there was exceptional as well. We enjoyed our stay very much! Thank you for the wonderful service!

Nice clean home, in great condition. Very roomy. Perfect for up to 8 people. Just be sure to bring mosquito spray. The outside area is nice although we didn't get to use it because of the rain and short stay. I like that it has a fence that can be closed to be fully enclosed for dogs since this is a pet friendly property.
