United StatesThe house/hotel is absolutely beautiful! Full of antiques and original wood, stained glass windows, fireplaces, a wrap around porch with rocking chairs, water (Elk River?) at the back of the property, this place exceeded my expectations. The pictures on the website don't do it justice. I booked a suite, which was about $200/night. It was well worth it. The walls were solid so I couldn't hear my neighbor if I even had one. It was very clean, aside from a used bar of soap in the shower. The bed was large and soft and incredibly comfortable. The decor was beautiful, and I loved the balcony overlooking the trees and water. I found myself hating to leave the next day, wishing I could stay an extra night. I slept through breakfast due to how comfortable the bed was, but it looked to be mostly portable with granola bars, oatmeal packets and such.

We do not recommend this facility to anyone.
We do not recommend this facility to anyone. The only positive thing we can say is that the beds we’re comfortable BUT we were woken up by alarms in the hallway twice! Called the front desk, which is in another building and he put me on hold. I had to hang up and go personally. What were the alarms going off for??? He had no answer. The community microwave by the ice machine is disgusting.
No WiFi, too weak to connect. We were placed on the 3rd floor of the “South Tower “. Their title, not ours. Do not take the stairs to your room, they are disgusting. But when you take the elevator, it makes loud “Bangs” traveling up. Never Again!

The refrigerator and microwave had been removed.
The refrigerator and microwave had been removed. All the tables were gone so there was no place to put our luggage. The bathroom had cheap toilet paper and there were no devices with shower soap. The beds were uncomfortable. The place seemed very run down .I would not recommend this hotel.

Flatwoods is a little outside of Sutton with great immediate...
Flatwoods is a little outside of Sutton with great immediate access to I-79. This is a good central spot to investigate all of WV. I was snowed in for all but the main roads, but it was still a great experience.
Plenty of food options in the immediate area, but could use a few extra more local options.
Of note, several gas options and a Walmart Supercenter. Local liquor shop closed, but the Exxon has a very well stocked liquor shop with plenty of quality options.
