Fantastic retro-motel experience on old Route 66! So many well thought-out touches, like vintage radios playing old music and adverstisements from the 60s. Great, friendly staff. Free coffee in the lobby and great giftshop. Gas-powered fire pit was a nice touch for a chily evening.

Great Route 66 theme throughout the facility. This included original touches like a free postage paid postcards available at the front desk. Front desk attendants were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, parking lot lighting was bright, breakfast was fresh. Would definitely recommend.

While the town has seen some hard times the folks I met were...

While the town has seen some hard times the folks I met were salt of the earth, friendly and welcoming. Tucumcari has a true American spirit. The strip must have been something to see in the 40's and 50's and it would be fitting if someday in the future the neon signs are once again burning bright up and down the strip.

Tucumcari appears to be dying, we went to the alleged best restaurant in the city and they were out of items and several machines in the restaurant were out of order. Dead and decaying buildings still standing along the main St.

The staff was accommodating for myself and my elderly mother...

The staff was accommodating for myself and my elderly mother who brought her dogs and could not climb the stairs, to which we were able to stay on the lower level. Knowing they have an indoor pool will make my choices to stay there even more likely.

2 days after our check out we arrived home.

2 days after our check out we arrived home. My husband forgot his tablet at the hotel. He had a app on his phone that tracked the tablet at the hotel. It had been turned in. Virginia was very helpful. We were impressed that it wasn't stolen.it is being returned to us by mail. Thank you!

Have visited Tucumcari many times, as I am a Route 66...

Have visited Tucumcari many times, as I am a Route 66 aficionado. Most places to stay are not chains, and our choices have been hit or miss. The museum is a nice place to visit, and Del's is good for dinner.

Definitely has seen better days.

Definitely has seen better days. Many of the iconic motels are vacant/abandoned, along with some other commercial buildings throughout town. Part of the allure is both the nostalgia and decay, along with the history of Route 66. I don’t know which will outlast the other.

The owner took the money from booking .com as if all ok with stay, then promptly advised we could not stay via booking.com and put us somewhere else less than 24 hours before arriving in Tucumcari, without even explanation and leaving us no time to make alternate plans. For anyone wanting certainty of where they stay and to choose their own hotel I would not rely on or recommend Roadrunner. They are likely to disappoint. And this is not the right way to behave as a business.

Everything! Great position, so quite at night! Room clean and the most comfy bed we ever had on our Route66 travel. Rama and Ray, the owners, are so friendly like we knew them since many years. They give also many tips on what to see and what to do in town. This is a must go while visiting (or just stopping by) Tucumcari.

Everything about our stay last night was just wonderful. Such an iconic motel that is in superb condition given its age, the owners are so warm and welcoming and even had English "Builders Tea" so that was the icing on the cake for me! You must visit this hotel, it's magical ✨️
