Due to a double booking we have been upgrade to the main house, instead of the cottage, so we got more than what we paid for. The place is very nice, clean and quiet. We had also the internet which is (apparently) not available on the cottage site.

The property and professional approach, including breakfast, exceeded our expectations. The chalet was tidy and clean, and the breakfast was presented beautifully in a boma. We had good coffee, delicious baked bread, fruit salad, and more. Highly recommendable.

A very comfortable and excellent place to stay over while...

A very comfortable and excellent place to stay over while travelling to another destination. A good halfway stop when travelling to the Northern Cape from Cape Town and surrounds and also from up North to Cape Town. Very good restaurant, very tasty pizzas and a very good solid breakfast, freshly prepared to your liking!

Sadly most of the Karoo towns we passed through are reflect the poverty and neglect of the Northern Cape with deteriorating infrastructure and litter everywhere. Sad to see this beautiful part of our country being forgotten by the National Government.

Pity we couldn't find a nursery to buy some plants but then...

Pity we couldn't find a nursery to buy some plants but then again it was a Saturday. Safe town to walk around in. NG church building and yard is kept in a good condition. Impressive building. The blue Nartjie's food was we prepared and tasty. The pizzas at Ciela's was excellent! Both places seems to be very popular.

Calvinia is a very clean quite Karoo Dorp.

Calvinia is a very clean quite Karoo Dorp. Did not have time to visit the museum, but sure it would be very interesting. Beautiful Church, the big postbox and Morris cafe across the road. Bought the best karoo Lamb at Calvinia Butchery. Had the best view and excellent sundown.

The flowers were lovely.

The flowers were lovely. The shops have everything you need (pre-made salads available at the spar). The town currently has a water shortage and although they have water available, one must use water sparingly. There are some very persistent beggars.

Everything was perfect, property is clean in and out.

Everything was perfect, property is clean in and out. Room is spacious with a huge comfortable bed. Host is amazing and friendly. To improve, just add few lights at the gate as it get very dark and a bit scary. Next time I will come earlier so I can enjoy the Braai facility and the view outside.
