Beautiful spot nestled away in the hills with a beautiful view of tabletop from our room. It was a great spot to escape the hustle and bustle of Cape Town during our stay there without going to far (it was about a twenty minute trip from the waterfront). FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colorful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settlement process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside of Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

It was a wonderful family vacation in Cape Town!

It was a wonderful family vacation in Cape Town! We had an amazing time exploring the city's breathtaking scenery, enjoying delicious food, and experiencing exciting adventures together. Every moment—from the stunning landscapes to the vibrant atmosphere—made this trip truly unforgettable. We returned home with beautiful memories that we will cherish for years to come. Thank you, Cape Town, for an incredible experience!

Visit Table Mountain, but be aware that if you do not take the gondola up and down it is a very taxing climb/descend. The lines to get to the gondola are quite long as it is a very popular place. Also, be sure it is a clear day, else it will be obscured by clouds. We traveled through Cape Town on our trip, but couldn't see it when we were there first, but on our return it was clear (quite a good view btw). Uber to get around to various neighborhoods is very reasonable due to good exchange rate (e.g. US$ to SAR).

Cape Town is a tourist's dream.

Cape Town is a tourist's dream. There are so many cultural, social and environmental sights and sounds to experience from swimming in stunning beach locations and hiking up mountain trails to visiting award-winning wine estates. Cape Town is a hot spot for out door activities when the sun is out and during colder winter months there is nothing better than visiting the countryside and enjoying intimate village breakaways in cosy accommodation with fireplaces. Favourite places include Bo-kaap for a spot of local flavour, colour and culture; Mountain hikes and table mountain cable car; Seapoint beaches (less crowded than Camps Bay) and if you able to travel further out the West Coast national Park has one of the best beaches in the world! Experience the best slap fish and chips at Kalkies, Fish on the Rocks and Snoekies. Hop on the Red City bus to see all the best tourist locations around Cape Town. MyCiti public transport will get around the CBD comfortably and then uber everywhere else. Cape Town is a great place for both the tourist on a budget and those who have money to splurge. You will leave happy and satisfied and come back for more!

Cape Town is one of the most beautiful places I've been!

Cape Town is one of the most beautiful places I've been! Scenic views on every corner, excellent food, friendly people and just too many things to do in a short trip! I recommend lodging close to the Waterfront if you like walking rather than driving, and booking experiences with locals, especially if you are a lone traveler. They'll often go out of the way and pick you up. I'd recommend starting with the Hop On bus, and a hike up Lion's Head with a local; it's beautiful and will help you get the lay of the land. Many sections of the city are walkable if you find the right location. For the more intense activities (hiking, water sports, zip lines, etc.) you'll need transportation. For lunch and dinner, there's tons of places at the Waterfront (I recommend Mitchell's Scottish ale house, but any other place will do), and by the Malay neighborhood you'll find a tremendous variety of authentic cuisine from all corners of the world (including an "authentic New York Pizza place", LOL).

Nice hotel for a couple of nights in Cape Town. Breakfast was fantastic - really enjoyed the buffet and plenty of choice available. Good location for exploring if you get taxis, though a bit less walkable than we would have liked (due to busy roads etc) but we did walk to the waterfront a couple of times which was nice.
