This was a great place to stay if you want to check out the museum and blood river battlefield. I don’t know why this lodge has such low ratings, check in was easy, we loved the little hut we stayed in (it was huge!), the beds were really comfy, and there was great water pressure and plenty of hot water.

We had a wonderful time staying here, the location overlooking the Bufalo river is superb, the property is on the hillside by itself, very quiet and safe with a security guard. Delightful rooms in a round building and next to another round building used for some training courses and meals for guests. Beds are comfy, so quiet, great for sleeping, so peaceful to stroll around the bush garden. Large bathrooms, plenty of hot water. Swimming pool too. The food was really excellent, the staff so friendly and welcoming and wonderful. The price is so reasonable and way below more expensive lodges but the same experience. We stayed to visit Rorke’s Drift and Isandlwana; the lodge is ideally located right next to Rorkes drift and 19km on good dirt road to Isandlwana. If you’re coming to see them, stay here. If you’d like a wonderful stay with beautiful, friendly staff in a wonderful environment and good food, then stay here too!

The location is incredible. Views to forever. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Food first rate. Fun 4x4 drive to the property which added to the experience. We drove ourselves but you might want to let them pick you up if you are not comfortable with that kind of rough track experience. Highly recommend this place!

As a person I value my money so much.

As a person I value my money so much. It was so awkward for me in evening thirst I had to drink hot water because there was no fridge. The TV was not working . In future please put atleast a small fridge in all the rooms . Try to make sure that all the appliances are working in the room.

The boundary of the municipality is the river, I was surprised at how long it took to reach the town. The town is African, I did some shopping but didn’t explore much beyond the hotel. In the morning I drove on the rough track which is the direct route to Isandlwana battlefield. The road was very rough, surface badly eroded by rain. Approaching Isandlwana I drove down a steep hill with a very poor surface which I would be unlikely to get up if I was going the other way. I returned to Nqutu via Rorke’s Drift and almost reached the edge of Dundee before I got to the Nqutu turning.
