Unless you are going to Harare for business or a specific task, avoid! Roads have broken up badly since my last visit and the traffic signals just don't exist. The traffic is a nightmare with a free-for-all do as you want and may the best driver win at junctions. So sad to see the decay since last visit when I was impressed with the city that was so well kept.
Anyway, will be back and hope to see improvement!

Harare has been subjected to years of neglect.
Harare has been subjected to years of neglect. There is evidence of great hardship and poverty.Terrible infrastructure,dilapidated buildings roads and incredible poverty in the face of extreme corruption. People are wonderful, friendly and giving. Despite the contemptible political situation,the country is nonetheless a very beautiful one with so many amazing areas to explore like Vic Falls, lake Kariba and Great Zimbabwe, getting around via cabs such as Indrive, Zims equivalent to Uber is very reasonable assuming the mega potholes don’t deter. Some great restaurants at reasonable prices of which there are many. Generally wonderful friendly and caring people who go out of their way to make the other feel welcome and wanted.

Harare has a beautiful ambience and a rich, interesting culture that makes visiting memorable, though the city’s roads need attention as many traffic lights were not working and several roads had numerous potholes.

I recently had the pleasure of travelling to Harare, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! What struck me most was the warmth and hospitality of the people. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and at home.
The city's vibrant atmosphere was infectious, with a mix of modern and traditional charm. I enjoyed exploring the bustling streets, taking in the sights and sounds, and sampling the local cuisine 😊.
What I liked most, however, was the rich cultural heritage on display. The historical landmarks, museums, and art galleries offered a fascinating glimpse into Zimbabwe's history and traditions.
Overall, my trip to Harare was a memorable one, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience the best of Zimbabwe.

Loved my stay.
Loved my stay. Settled in well and the whole family is very welcoming at Elgrin Guest House in Hatfield. If you need an euthentic Zimbabwean experience with loads of TLC this is definitely the go to place. My husband and i are not booking anywhere else lol
