The location of the house is truly excellent: right in the middle of the vineyards, with a stunning view of the mountain. The bedrooms and the bathroom are comfortable, and the setting has a lot of potential.

Quiet. After dark, the only sound was a barking dog 3 km away. Sometimes enveloping silence. This was the perfect place for me near the sea. Quiet and serenity was what I wanted after 2 weeks of bouncing between 7 Açorean Islands.

Fatima is a wonderful host; her welcome was warm, and the generous amount of food she provided was a delightful surprise. The apartment she offers is very comfortable, set in a beautiful garden with views of Pico mountain and the sea. It served as the perfect, peaceful setting for a relaxing retreat.

Magical place Very quiet Gorgeous location

We absolutely adored this apartment! The location is about 20 minutes out of downtown Madalena, which we loved because we felt close to the main groceries, restaurants, etc. but still had the experience of living in a smaller town surrounded by nature. We could also “see” Pico (the volcano was mostly covered by clouds the entire time we stayed here so we weren’t very lucky with the views!) from the apartment. The apartment is adorable and so beautifully decorated. It also has EVERYTHING you need; well-equipped is an understatement. We cooked our dinners at home every night and the kitchen had every tool, even herb, we needed. There were extra towels put out just in case, extra toilet paper available; everything was there for us to feel just like at home. We also really appreciated the dehumidifier in the room, considering the climate is so humid, this really helped with our overall comfort. Bonus points for the bed that was extra comfortable. Marta was also very responsive and sweet and the check-in and check-out process was a breeze. She even accommodated us with a late check-out at the last minute!

Elizabete and Thelma are what make this property shine! Their breakfasts were some of the best we’ve had while traveling! Proactive correspondence before arrival, personal recommendations, property tours, and after hours responses were thoughtful and made our stay remarkable. The ability to have a little extra time on the property at the end of our stay was so appreciated!! We gladly spent a day poolside doing nothing and then explored the coastline on foot using the walking trails just across from the property. Not to be missed just down the street: Joe’s Bar! Right on the beach, May 1-Oct. 30.
