Everything was wonderful - the breakfast, the room and most of all the staff at this family owned inn. The people were some of the kindest, most generous that we’ve met in our travels. One son speaks fluent English but even with limited English the other family members were helpful and welcoming. We were able to keep our room on checkout day since we had a late flight to Athens. Ask for a quiet room if you want to be away from the busy street between Virsa and the lake. The family has a little bar/cafe in front. Enter there for a welcome coffee and lovely people, then enjoy a bright and spacious room with a nice little balcony. There are stairs but family will help with luggage.

Don't be put off by the other decrepit buildings on the street! The building that houses the apartment, and then the interior courtyard and the apartment itself are perfect. It's a 10-minute walk from the bus station, and it's perfectly located to the center of town, about a 5-minute walk, but it's extremely quiet at night and great for sleeping. The interior is spacious and lovely. There is a patio with a table and chairs in front of the unit so you can be outside. Coffee, toasts with jam, and bottled water (although the tap water is perfectly good!) are provided as well. Toiletries are provided. Blackout curtains so that you can sleep well. A ceiling fan in the bedroom! (I've never encountered one in the Balkans) So nice for sleeping! But the most delightful and surprising thing was the bed! A tempurpedic (latex foam) mattress!! And the pillows were of the same material! This was the best bed I have found in all of the Balkans! My joints really appreciated this bed!! When I return to Ioannina, I will most definitely stay here again.
