After travelling by car from Jakarta through the chaos of Java, arriving at this peaceful little place surrounded by nature felt like an absolute blessing. I really enjoyed my stay at El Bamboo Guesthouse. I love being close to nature, and this place was peaceful, green and exactly what I needed. One of the best parts was having the waterfall all to myself and being able to swim in peace. There is also a beautiful natural pool (Sendang Seruni) within walking distance, and it is absolutely worth visiting. The homemade food was delicious, and the owners were so kind and welcoming. It’s a simple place, but very special. I would definitely stay here again.

The owners were super friendly and hospitable. We got there really late after a long drive from Bromo and they made fried rice for us. How super nice. The next day after Ijen they even made breakfast for us. I didn’t know breakfast was included. Even without breakfast, the accommodation price is a super deal

My room was really nice - comfortable bed; nice balcony with amazing view. Wisnu from the hotel took me on a fun walk around the village. The hotel is situated in a small village and the surroundings are very peaceful and beautiful. It was a good base for the Ijen hike. Wisnu also helped me order delivery from the small restaurant in the village, which I appreciated. This place is really good value for your money. It’s new and the quality is high. I’d definitely recommend it to others and would gladly stay again.

This was absolutely the best accommodation we’ve had in our trip across Java. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. We arrived late without dinner and they brought us a snack and a delicious welcome drink. We felt right at home instantly. The location is absolute perfection with a beautiful farm where all of the produce for your breakfast comes from. The house itself is impeccably decorated in a traditional-meets-modern style (for Indonesia) and the sounds of frogs and insects will lull you to sleep. Consider spending 2 full days here, it’s more than a stop over to visit Ijen Mountain. The walks through the rice fields and villages are among the best we’ve experienced. 12/10 would recommend.
