It’s a very old Ryokan but it is well maintained. It has its own public bath so you get to experience it without an added cost and it is very convenient. Our room had its own bath too.
The dinner was very good, every dish served was good. The Japanese lady who served us was very kind and attentive.
I also liked the garden view from the room.
The train station is nearby.

We loved our stay here - everything was clean, comfortable beds including the sofa bed in the tatami area. The free breakfast was a bonus before we headed out for the day. The staff were welcoming and helpful especially when we used luggage transfer service. Great location, close to the bus and walking distance to ninenzaka and kiyomizu-dera temple. Our first day here it rained and they had umbrellas we could borrow which was great as we had not brought our own. Highly recommend a stay here!

Largest room we have stayed in with everything we needed. Had a sliding door between bedroom and kitchen/bath/washing machine area. Large shower/tub area with door. Got a room on the top 3rd floor.
Quiet location. Walking distance to subway and major attractions and Family Mart and a few restaurants. Booked 5 months in advance so we got an excellent price.

Every little detail was well thought out. They consider themselves a 2-star property on their site but in reality, the amenities were first rate and very modern. I even liked that the shower would shut off after a certain period of time; this helps conserve water. Comfortable beds, lovely white sheets, beautiful seating areas in the corner room with the river view, many adjustable lighting settings, above all very clean surroundings. The staff are helpful and will not hesitate to assist you. It was also right at the start of the Gion district and still can easily access the modern parts of the city just over the bridge.

Amazing hospitality and staff had decent English. The location was great. Beautiful traditional Japanese room with a modern private bathroom. They also have a hot bath that can be reserved and a nice little garden. Would definitely stay again!

Location was prime but also peaceful and relaxing while being close to beautiful sights, shopping and easy to navigate. The room was beautiful, super spacious, clean and incredibly comfortable. The beds were great and we had a private in room onsen that was truly the highlight. Pajamas and yukata were provided in the room as well.
