The location is very good , just 4 bus stop to the central station . 3-5 minute walking to bus stop. The room is spacious, clean , has everything you need for the trip. Staff is helpful. Spa and gym is a bonus. There is laundry and iron on the first floor. We like the July and will definitely come back.

Staff incredibly friendly (expected, since it is a school), good and very quiet bedroom, parking lot available. The breakfast was a little weird, we had to wait for them to come to our table and get our order. Not so many options available, considering a hotel breakfast. But, what was available was very good.

This hotel had the best reception staff I have ever experienced. On arrival you are personally greeted and offered an arrival drink. I had tea as I was exhausted! It gets you off to a very good start. Our room was amazing, downstairs on the canal with a special chair that allowed you to sit level with the canal and watch the boats go by. I have never stayed in anything like it. I loved our stay here.

Love the boat trips, views, and the relaxed atmosphere.

Love the boat trips, views, and the relaxed atmosphere. We travelled as a family to see the Barbie Dream House which was great fun. We had pizza on a boat cruise and chips at Fabels. On route to our boat trip we stopped at the science museum roof to see the great view and enjoy a refreshment. We walked at lot but most people ride bikes everywhere. You can hire a bike locally or have them delivered to your hotel. We also visited Adam's Tower which we also enjoyed, seeing such great views of the city and walked around '9 streets', where there are lost of interesting shops. Our last stop was the Anne Frank Museum which I have been to before but has been extended since my last visit.

The UNESCO protected old town and its history, is of immense interest. The Rijks museum was an absolute wonder, relaxed and well run. It's cafe food superb and staff very helpful and unobtrusive. Sadly the streets of Amsterdam are surprisingly dirty, especially round the station an old town, and you have to tolerate the asphyxiating smell of cannabis smoke in many places.

The whole Amsterdam experience is great, but during our Red Light Visit on Saturday Night it was very crowed this is due mainly to the closing of red light windows and the concentration of people in a much smaller Red Light area causing overcrowding, but still a great night.

Amsterdam has been delightful!

Amsterdam has been delightful! The city is eclectic and welcoming and the summer months meant a good amount of daylight for exploring. The city is a great place to enjoy art (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh etc) and the canals (would recommend a boat ride), botanic gardens, and is also fun for shopping. Amsterdam is also a good base to explore other cities e.g. The Hague, Zandvoort, Rotterdam, and to visit Belgium e.g. Bruges. Day trips are easy to arrange with local operators. The weather is pleasantly cool in the summer, considering the 2026 heatwave as well. Pleasant people and we felt safe walking about the city! The public transport system is easy to navigate.

Depending on what your goals are; historically there is a lot to see. The city itself is dirty, crowded and those bikes are no joke (they don't care where people walk, they own the road). There are gnats everywhere due to the canals. Next time I'll skip Amsterdam and explore other places in the Netherlands.

Amsterdam is quite an expensive place to visit, some of the surrounding areas are quite easy to reach and are much cheaper to stay. Getting round Amsterdam is very easy, with good tram, bus and trains to choose from. Tried on a couple of occasions to use the metro, but failed as the ticket machines where broken or missing!

This is a hotel in a typical Amsterdam city centre building so rooms are small and stairs are steep - but there is a lift. I had a double room which was perfect for one peson for one night. There is no breakfast option but there was free coffee and some croissants in the basement. The room was perfectly clean. The location was also good for me close to the city centre.

I have stayed in both the Hoxton's in Amsterdam and they are both lovely. This one is a bit further out, lovely building, nice rooms, great food. If you want to avoid the noise of the city centre but still have easy access to it then a great option. And a step above your usual corporate hotels.
