The host is so lovely and helpful without being intrusive. She cooks the most amazing food.

100 years old family home with a beautiful Japanese garden, 2 minutes walk to a quiet beach. The bikes to get around and to the train station. The house can get cold at night but there are heating options and the futons were warm and comfy. Drinking tea while watching the garden was perfect

We liked the way every cupboard and drawer had a small sticker to indicate what was inside. It helped to quickly locate the kitchen stuff. Some basic ingredients for cooking were also in the fridge. The place was very comfortable to stay and we were able to cook with whatever we had carried with us. A 5 min walk took us to the water's edge where we could see surfer's having a good time. The place was clean and well maintained.

It was spacious, clean and thoughtfully decorated. Lots of facilities as well (including a washing machine! Though we didn’t end up using it.) Owner was incredibly kind and friendly. Would love to stay again.

The onsens (one open air) were beautiful. The personal was 100% invested on our wellbeing. The chef, food quality and presentation were above average! Breathtaking view of the Pacific from the room’s windows.”

The apartment was really big, the size of a normal apartment. Kitchen, living room, bedroom, bath, toilet. And had 3 beds. We didn’t see the owner so it was nice and private.

The place was clean, spacious and comfortable. There is a kitchenette, tatami floor, a washing machine and a terrasse. The owner provided all the necessary information before arrival via messages.

The place is just walking distance to the train station and the staff are so helpful with lots of recommendations for food, coffee & things to do in Katsuura. The sauna room is spacious and clean - a great way to end the Kumano Kodo

We stayed at Maru House to be near Nachi Waterfall. Communication with the host was excellent and the house was clean and comfortable. It is in a quiet neighborhood. There is a Lawson and ramen shop nearby.

The guesthouse location is few minutes walk from the Kii katsuura train station, close to restaurants, and attractions. The guesthouse is beautiful, well organized, clean, lovely and welcoming place to stay. I really enjoyed my stay in the guesthouse and appreciate the kindness and generosity of the owner.

Centrally located near the train station and the tuna market. There is a large convenience store right across from it. The room is modern and clean and the bedding is comfortable. The hotel/hostel offers a communal space with a large kitchen and a sitting area. They also have a coin laundry. This is a great accommodation for a short stay. I booked it after my Kumano Kodo trip.

Great, comfortable stay. Quiet and right across from the train station. Enjoyed the onsen very much. Staff had recommendations for places to eat.

Very close to the railway st, bus stop, and the seafood market.., room is spacious, clean.
