The residence is super clean, you have all you need, and in top of that the host Kyoko san is a very warm and welcoming person, that receives you with a smile and support you with everything you may need, from recommendations to sightseeing places or restaurants. The hotel location was great, pretty close to the train station. The breakfast has a lot of options, it was one of the best in my life. The hotel staff was amazing and onsen was great to relax.

My wife & I stayed at Fulsato for one night on a Tohoku ski trip driving from Geto Kogen to Tazawako. We’ve stayed at many Ryokan on our trips to Japan and this was likely the best one. From the moment we arrived the staff was so kind and helpful. We got a room overlooking the river with our own private bath in the balcony. The other public baths were nice esp the outdoor one. The room was well thought out and immaculately clean. The best part was the food! Both the dinner and breakfast were kaiseki style and the presentation and flavors were amazing. The price was higher than we usually pay but it felt like a total value.

Communication prior to the stay was beyond excellent. I had messaged about travel and connections from the Shinkansen and nearby Yokote where we attended the Kamakura Festival. This property was very elevated and unique. The architecture, woodwork and traditional structural elements were absolutely gorgeous. We appreciated the turntable in the room (relaxing) and the staff were extremely gracious when we arrived by providing soup and beverages in a timely manner. Breakfast service was delicious and presentation beyond exceptional.

Breakfast was average. Because it is in individual rooms, the staff was short-handed in serving food. It will be better if guest could help themselves to the food.
