Isabelle, the owner, met us at the ferry and led us to the apartment. She spent time showing us how everything worked ( hot water, washing machine, etc). She gave us a lovely welcome gift- a box of traditional almond sweets from the island. She is absolutely charming! Throughout our stay, we kept in touch with her through What'sApp. She made suggestions of restaurants to try and answered questions we had about water taxis and beaches. She even dropped by to give us an extra beach towel. Hydra is very hilly with lots of steps. This apartment, however, is located just minutes from the port. It was so easy to get everywhere from our cozy place. We would definitely return! We so enjoyed our stay and meeting Isabelle.

The host was superbly helpful and fantastic to deal with. She texted us in advance of our stay to ensure we were comfortable from the moment our feet touched the island and was very fast to reply if we had a question or need. The apartment was beautifully finished and furnished and was immaculately clean upon our arrival. The room was nearly silent, the bed was comfortable, the shower was luxurious, and the espresso machine made excellent espressos. The hotel is close enough to the main stretch that its easily accessed on foot but not so close that you hear any noise (we were early to bed one night and late to rise one morning and both times the room was silent).

I will definitely be returning and staying at Piteoussa again. Yiannis is extremely helpful, friendly, and professional and made our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We stayed in a room next to the backyard and everything from the decor to the bedding to instructions for the room was handled perfectly. It's a quick walk to and from the port and a short walk to restaurants, beaches, shops, etc. (Bonus: when we told someone who had lived on the island where we were staying, they confirmed it was a wonderful place to stay.) My only regret was that we didn't stay on Hydra longer-- but there's always next time. This is a place you feel like you should return to again and again.
