Superb location next to Shinkansen station. Large sized room for Japanese standard, great city view. Could see Hamamatsu castle from the room. Very comfortable bed. Great staff service. Excellent breakfast of Japanese and Western spread. Even had a Dyson hair dryer in the room! Close to great shopping and restaurants. Onsite parking available.

When I booked this stay, the hotel actually had a different name. It was rebranded as a Marriott and had been open for 3 DAYS!!!It was extremely clear to me that Marriott corporate saw a very cheap and old building in a small city and jumped at the chance to renovate the property. And I am very glad they did. The building houses the Hungarian Consulate, art displays, model cars... the type of thing you would see in a mini mall. There was even a gazebo set up for wedding ceremonies in a completely empty void of a space were all the hotel rooms faced inward to hallway style balconies. None of this is bad, I promise you. It made for a nice walk. Multiple foreign staff members, as in, non-japanese to accommodate all the non-japanese speakers. Very smooth check in. We are escorted to the room, learn a bit about the hotel, get called ma'am a few dozen times. Very nice. Our room was stunning. Beautiful design, lovely bathroom, a giant tv that turns on as you walk in. Everything was new since it was only 3 days old. The beds, so soft and deep, but not from overuse oh no, this is what expensive bedding is actually like. We did a bit of a jump test and my friend barely moved. Fantastically soft, like sleeping on a cloud. David Martel (pronounced frenchly) greets us at the M Club lounge on the top floor. This fantastic Canadian man booked us a restaurant reservation (not his job technically), put up with my excessive conversation and took very good care of us. I bothered him multiple times a day, as the lounge provides free flowing liquor and apps for Marriott members. The room price pays for itself when you are pouring yourself doubles and chardonnays. At some point I found myself just looking for him. Charismatic staff like that are hard to find. Take note Marriott Corporate!! Also free parking!! AND YOU CAN SEE Mt.FUJI from the M LOUNGE!!!

Great location, a hop, skip and a jump away from Hamamatsu's train and bus stations. Sizable room with superb views over the city, and a bright bathroom with a powerful shower. Check-in was efficient - and we got into our room despite arriving at the hotel about 45 minutes early - and check-out quick. Didn't eat at any of the hotels restaurants, but there seemed to be a choice of three or four.
