Great location, great views, super super comfortable king bed. Very modern, very clean. Great wifi. Really the location was perfect, lots and lots of bars , restaurants, shops around. Walking distance to Gion and literally right next to pontocho alley. The area is really nice to stroll around too, very lively at night. Best sleep we got the entire trip.

I loved how spacious our room was. The hotel was so nice and clean. It definitely was in a good location. Quiet around the area but one/two streets over was all the shopping/food places. Loved the in house spa and facial options. We didn’t get a facial because they were booked out but massage was nice!

Every little detail was well thought out. They consider themselves a 2-star property on their site but in reality, the amenities were first rate and very modern. I even liked that the shower would shut off after a certain period of time; this helps conserve water. Comfortable beds, lovely white sheets, beautiful seating areas in the corner room with the river view, many adjustable lighting settings, above all very clean surroundings. The staff are helpful and will not hesitate to assist you. It was also right at the start of the Gion district and still can easily access the modern parts of the city just over the bridge.

Open from September 2017, The Celestine Kyoto Gion is set in Kyoto, a 10-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station. Guests can walk to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in 15 minutes from the property.
