We were in Deventer for a family wedding. The Finch is very close to the train station and right in town - so close to shops and eateries. We really enjoyed the quietness. The room was large for the Nederlands and we had ample room. There was a good shower and vanity with a separate toilet on the other side of the room. The room had quirky decor with a record player on one bedside table and a stack of books on the other - it set the tone for a fun few days with family. The staff were amazing and friendly and always greeted us as we came and went. Reception area doubled as a bar which served all day till late. Breakfast was in this area too in the morning and it was GOOD - we really loved it. It was brought on a tray to the comfortable chairs and tables so it felt leisurely. Coffee was also good.

Our stay at Mooirivier was just for the one night but was very pleasant - everything was beautiful including our room, dinner and breakfast. The surrounds are beautiful and the staff were happy to help us.

Sabine was an outstanding Ambassador. And the bartender, whose name we did not catch but she recently returned from studying at Cambridge, was a delightful conversationalist and lovely.

Great beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Our room was directly on the canal with a wonderful outdoor seating and the restaurant was elegant and luxurious,especially since we are vegetarians,the chef prepared a special dinner for us and it was very delicious. Small boutique hotel but really outstanding service, more then I expected. Friendly and helpfull staff, very good.

Almost a century ago on the exact the same spot where Hotel Restaurant De Uitkijk now sits was a tea house. Since then a lot has been changed.
