Used to go right through Deal from Whitsable to Walmer and back again. Didn't realize how much there is to do. Best day out was the 2 mile walk along the sea front from Deal castle to Walmer castle where you can see Wellingtons boots and the room he died in.

This is a traditional English hotel that completely met my expectations. They provided a room and food for a special reception that I hosted, and that went very well. The staff were super.

Excellent homely stay, with a warm welcome and delightful room. The house is full of character, with original beams and stained glass windows. Facilities include very comfortable beds, excellent showers, ample parking, seating areas and a double hot tub. Tracy made us a brilliant breakfast each morning and was kind enough to provide tea and scones on arrival. Can't get better than that! I recommend you go to Barnsole vineyard, walkable in 30 mins. Book an hour wine tasting with Phil for £20 per head. The Black Pig is close by for dinner and Joss Bay beach is lovely too

Went to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Lovely place to stay. Beautiful building and room. Great food. Friendly and helpful staff. Outside grounds are mainly a golf course to the front but kept emaculate, with a garden at the back. The only downside is that it's not a disabled friendly place for a wheelchair user. There was no lift or disabled toilet on the ground floor, as toilets were downstairs, but apart from that, we would stay here again.

Wonderful old and characterful hunting lodge. My room was very good size and with a separate living room overlooking the golf course. Decent quality coffee to make in the room too.

The staff were outstanding and made the stay delightful. The food was very good. The wedding taking place next to the restaurant provided great entertainment and they did a good job of keeping things quiet by midnight. The grounds were very pretty and my husband said the golf course was good. I guess he played well :)

Some of the new rooms are a good size and well decorated. The golf course is beautifully maintained and well worth a round. Most of the staff did try to make the visit comfortable but faced challenges. We enjoyed the outdoor table tennis table and the woodland trails.
