Beautiful courtyard, adorable dog. The room was clean and warm. Everyone at the guest house was incredibly friendly, especially the "Teacher" was well traveled and interesting to chat with. He was also knowledgeable about the Tiger Leaping Gorge and arranged a carpool to drop me off at the trail head, deliver my luggage to the end point, then bring me to Lijiang train station on day 2. I was also added to a WeChat group with the driver and the guesthouse staff, and since I don't speak Chinese, it was really helpful to have them jump in when I needed something.

Excellent location near old town, in a secure gated area. Our room was spacious and included an alcove with a view of the city, a couch, and even an extra bed (which we did not use). Host, especially "Mama," very attentive.

Cool little spot, helpful staff, a crazy climbing wall, and a dog who tried to impregnate me:D it’s also close to old town!!

- Located center of Shuhe ancient town, 1 of the best ancient towns in Lijiang. If you wanna feel quiet and peaceful ancient in Lijiang, Johnson's home is a good choice. - Kind and supportive owner, Johnson helped us to carry our luggage way in and out to the road. Showed us some attractive places to visit, and support in reserving a ticket for the Legend of Romance show - Experienced in Naxi house, unique and style architecture design.

The cleanliness of the room and location was perfect. The staff (ie Jing Jing) went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They also helped organize our day trips. The A/C is strong relative to most places we have stayed at in China.

The staff was incredible - kind, attentive, helpful. There was a language barrier, but that was navigated with phone apps and using the bits of shared language we had. The room and garden outside were beautiful and comfortable - inspiring relaxation. The location was also nice because it was close enough to the tourist spots that we could walk (20 minutes to the “Ancient City”, but still far enough away to be quiet. Also a series of good restaurants near the hotel, so always good choices to eat. Finally, there were many adorable animals - Gary the dog, the pudgy male cat, a lovely Siamese and three perfect kittens - all friendly and non intrusive, they were there if you went to them but never pushed into your space. A splendid way to complete a family friendly hotel.

The owner Fonda and her husband are the warmest host I have met on this trip. Fonda who speaks great English takes care of you like an aunt.
