Clean, delicious breakfast, new facilities

My recent stay at Aron's Lavinia Emerald was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I arrived, I felt as if I had stumbled upon a true home away from home, the staff offered me tea as I waited for my room to be prepared. The comfort of the accommodation combined with the warm hospitality of the staff made my experience truly memorable. James, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was not only comfortable but also tailored to my needs. The host also checked in on me from time to time to see if I was okay and if I needed anything, which I appreciated. If given the opportunity to visit Sri Lanka again, I wouldn't hesitate to return

Location: The location is really good and accessible. It is only 3-4 buildings away from Mt. Lavinia Beach, meaning you can just walk back to the hotel for bathing after the beach. There are quite a few restaurants on either side (regular ones on the main road ~200m away and shacks on the beach side). For added security, the compound features a large gate with an auto-lock system ( guests hold a key), which I thought was neat. Rooms: The rooms are exactly as advertised. The compound features three villa-style rooms situated within a quiet, peaceful, and well-curated lawn. The room was extremely clean, well-maintained, and spacious with a central bed, a writing table near the window, and a few side tables. Each room also had its own sitting area with chairs and a cloth-drying rack just outside. The bathroom and bath towels were also quite clean, with hot water available throughout the day. Service: The service was exceptional. Both the host Janitha and the hotel caretaker Gunaseelan are courteous and friendly people. Before check-in, Janitha tracked my arrival and ensured that things were in order when I arrived. Gunaseelan, the caretaker, is also quite friendly and generally made me feel welcome: helping me with timely breakfast, an umbrella during rain, restaurant pointers etc. Although the booking description states that breakfast is not included, I received a generous free breakfast with a wide spread on both days (orange juice, tea/coffee, fruits along with bread or a local dish like string hoppers). I even received a complimentary surprise drink in the afternoon. Overall, if you are going to Mt. Lavinia for a quiet getaway, this is definitely The place to go. I found it to be awesome!

Staff and property were excellent. A home away from home in Colombo.

In fact, there is no place to stay here at all, please don't book because we came to the front door and the owner didn't let us in and closed the door on us disrespectfully.

It is in a very peaceful and serene area with great views. My room was well equipped and comfortable. The whole property was welcoming.

Had a great experience at Sayura House. Nice and clean environment in a busy area. Manager Gamini and his staff are most friendly and helpful. My wife and i spent one night here. We will definitely be coming back again for a few nights. Make sure to scan the restaurant's QR and have a nice meal. (Poké 65)

Beautiful clean room. Staff were delightful and helpful. Breakfast was delicious (had both Sri Lankan and non Sri Lankan options). A bit out of town but we thought absolutely worth it. Would stay again. Loved it and didn't want to leave!

I’ve stayed here many times, and it’s always been excellent. Everything is well-maintained, and Uncle Gunaratna’s hospitality is unmatched. Highly recommend this place for a comfortable and welcoming stay!

Modern, tasteful, and extremely comfortable rooms attached to the historic DBU building. Excellent staff and service. All meals from the VOC cafe were delicious. Access to the historic member’s bar for overnight guests. A highlight of my time in Colombo.

I loved staying at this beautiful, proud, authentic and uncompromising Sri Lankan family home come hotel, finished as it was to the highest of standards and so very tastefully decorated, all risen up from the once lakeside bank. I was greeted by my courteous hosts on arrival, respectful of my long journey from the UK, and made to feel welcomed and comfortable right away. My accommodation was as described and expected; it was immaculate (cleaned twice during my stay of three nights) and more than adequate for my needs. The food was delicious; although breakfast was lovely, my evening meals have been the best I have had here so far, being especially well cooked and prepared, further enhancing my first-time-in-Sri Lanka experience. The hosts arranged local tuc tucs and drivers for me, usually at short notice, and we're always keen to help out, particularly with timings on my leaving day. I said that if I came to Sri Lanka again I would stay here again and I meant it. Thank you all for the quality of all of your services and your thoughtfulness throughout my stay.
