This is an excellent homestay. George is a super host, greeted us with coffee and biscuits and was very helpful throughout. The room is a great size and very comfortable and we slept really well there. The balcony is a nice bonus. The food is excellent, we had dinner there as well and I highly recommend doing that. Overall one of our best stays and I thoroughly recommend it.

This property is an absolute gem and one of my favorite stays in India. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. Even the most basic rooms are incredibly spacious—more like a one-bedroom apartment—blending traditional charm with modern minimalism. The setting is breathtaking, nestled within a plantation where you wake up to birdsong and crickets. We even spotted deer during our stay! The staff are genuinely warm and attentive, making the experience feel personal and welcoming. Daily Ayurvedic massages added to the relaxation, and a highlight was the cooking class led by Chef Sibil, Arun, and their team, where we learned to make a fantastic Kerala fish curry. Akhila also gave us an insightful tour of the plantation, which made us appreciate the place even more. One of the unique touches here is the drinking water—it is harvested on-site and tastes incredibly fresh! The breakfast spread was exceptional, with perfectly prepared dishes, fragrant fruits, and fresh juices. We also tried the plantation’s coffee, a lovely light to medium-bodied brew. If you visit, do not miss their honey—it is outstanding! Food here is a true highlight. Some of my top recommendations are the All-Spice Chicken, Kerala Beef Coconut Fry, Banana Fritters, and Kerala Parotta. Everything was cooked to perfection. This place offers a rare balance—it is intimate and peaceful, yet has all the comforts of a high-end retreat. My favorite spot was the balcony, overlooking the lush greenery of the plantation—a perfect place to unwind. Smaller properties sometimes come with limitations, while larger ones can feel impersonal. This one is just right—private and exclusive, yet offering everything you could need for a perfect stay. Highly recommend!

Location is hidden in jungles, and totally peaceful and close to nature. Room is big, all the facilities are working, just shower water pressure was on and off - had to keep the knob pressed with my hand while taking a shower, otherwise it's been turning off. Sunset and sunrise river/mountain views with birds singing right from the balcony were terrific. There is also a viewing tower nearby - with 360 view, including mountain sunset. Support team is adorable and caring. Bed linen is fresh, snd so are towels. Dinner and breakfast were delicious (Indian cuisine).

After the initial hustle and chaos of India, staying at Mountainview Homestay is a welcome place to unwind. Asfal and his friends are friendly and easy to talk to, and they give great tips on what to see and do in the area. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed. Waking up to a view of the green trees, with a cup of good coffee is pure bliss. It’s incredibly peaceful, with the occasional playful troop of monkeys on the roof to break the silence, peeking curiously at you as they play. In short, the perfect spot to recharge before diving back into colorful, bustling India. P.S. Asfal also helped us with the next leg of our trip. He arranged a taxi driver to take us to the Alleppey, and along the way shared lots about the history of Kerala and India, tea plantations, and Hinduism. We made several stops and got to try local sweets – highly recommended!

I can’t say enough about this stay and the service. The manager, Lawrence, is an outstanding host and goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and taken care of. After we were all checked in and settled, Lawrence gave us a detailed WhatsApp message info about all the activities around the area. He also made sure we were driven to and picked up from where ever we needed to go for ZERO COST. The owner was actually the one driving us and him and his family were extremely kind. They fed us a good South Indian breakfast. This was also the quietest night of sleep we’ve had in India!
