We had a wonderful stay at Pension Kobekke with our 9-month old baby. We had read in other reviews that the owners would pick us up from the bus stop, but it was a bonus to learn that there were also multiple shuttles available throughout the day to take us to and from the local ski resort, as well as a shuttle service for dinner time. The rooms are much more spacious than anywhere else we’ve encountered in Japan, and the family that runs Pension Kobekke is so friendly and accommodating. Our baby had the best time in the kids area and we enjoyed the private bath facilities, which were kept clean. We ate dinner at the accommodation one night and the food was delicious and plentiful. There is also a communal lounge area with space to relax in massage chairs, which is great after a day of skiing! The local resort (Tsugaike) is perfect for beginners/intermediate and we hope to return again in the near future.

I use there for just staying for 1 night. I like owner’s quickly responsive and the room which is good enough for staying. I actually not experienced that much comfortable staying. I also appreciate that worm bath. It’s available on 4pm to 11pm, and you can use by yourself, not like Onsen style which everybody shares. The building is so old as make sound but rooms are pretty good Tatami style. They provide bath towel, face towel, toothbrush and rental hairdryer for free. Hot water and microwave is available for 24 hrs, and it’s so helpful for cup noodles.

Three of us stayed here for 5 days. We had the best time! The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with great facilities, including a storage area for all of our ski and snowboard gear. There’s also a bus station right down the street that takes you to Iwatake (which you can then transfer to another bus that takes you to every resort.) The best part were the owners — they were so kind and welcoming even though we did not speak Japanese. They cooked us breakfast and dinner and both were so delicious. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay😁

the property itself was extremely cozy, with a wood-fueled fire going in the game room and extremely comfy beds. there were heating units spread throughout the house, so I never felt cold. the shower in the basement was also absolutely fantastic! I love the onsen-style showers in general, and having one in the property was a genius touch. and I can’t say enough about the owners. I was picked up from the bus station, driven every morning to the mountains, and picked up each afternoon at an agreed-upon time, then driven into town each night to find a restaurant for dinner, then dropped off at the bus station for my journey home. it was absolutely exceptional. the hosts go above and beyond in every way. I would absolutely stay here anytime I come to visit Hakuba. nothing short of exceptional.

The hospitality of the owners and the well maintained hostel. All four mornings of my stay, the owners went their way to ask about where I’ll be visiting and gave me local information including 20-30% discounts on ski resort passes. The facility had a garden theme while keeping warmth and cleanness in Hakuba winter -10/10

Its family run and operated. Nice clean rooms. Comfy beds! Great home cooked dinners available for reservation. Breakfast was delicious and included with the stay. The gear storage for our snowboards, skis and boots was great! They offer paid shuttle rides in a nice van to any of the local ski resorts for a fair price and are flexible with drop off and pickup times. Knowledgeable on the local area and can help answer questions and provide recommendations. Overall very kind and accommodating hosts. Would absolutely return for our next trip to Hakuba.

Property is very convenient to the bus station that takes you to all the ski resorts. Just down the street. And there are a plethora of restaurants one block over from the location. It’s an easy walk to Happo One. The owners are also very accommodating when issues arise.

The house is located just 6 min walking (in snowboard boots) to the Goryu slopes. The staff is amazing and they do everything to help you feel like home. The beds are comfortable and it is a silent place. I have stayed 4 nights and came back for 2 nights more. I will be back next season for sure. The shuttle service to and from the station is perfect for the ease of your travel.
