The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. We were also upgraded from an ordinary room to a suite with a private bathroom, which was a nice bonus. The breakfast was brilliant, being served in a bakery directly below which is run by the same owners.

We stayed at Paco de Pombeiro for one night during our trip from Braga to Douro valley. The place is really calm, relaxing, and has everything you need for a shorter stay. There is a pool, plenty of parking and beatiful views on the surronding wineries. We had great breakfast, and were pleasntly suprised by the hospitality of the owners (Ingrid and Marcus) that were really responsive and attentive to every our request. We’ll definetelly stay there again if we’re in area!

We loved everything. The room was enormous and beautiful as was the bathroom. It had stunning decorative high ceilings and we felt like we were staying in a palace. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location perfect.

This is the best place I stayed in my entire Minho trip. It’s situated in a large farm right next to a famous winery. The place is covered by roses and vineyards. Lovely ladies prepare wonderful breakfast with fresh fruits and squeezed orange juice. They actually gave me oranges grown in their house. They are most juicy oranges I have ever had.

An exceptional place in all respects: location, comfort, facilities, safety and cleanliness. An air of generosity pervades the property. We had an excellent local food meal at the little restaurant about 2 metres from the front door!

Just outside the UNESCO world heritage site of Guimarães, this historic winery features elegantly decorated boutique rooms. Casa de Sezim offers guided tours and tastings in the wine cellars.

staying here felt like staying in a beautiful old home, with royal treatment. the room was very comfortable and relaxing. touring the property was like visiting an historical museum. the staff was very friendly and informative. breakfast was delicious with eggs made to order and plenty of it. an added enjoyment was the family dog that was always glad to see you.

Opus House is a recently renovated guest house in Guimarães near Ducal Palace. The air-conditioned accommodations are a 6-minute walk from Salado Memorial.

This small hotel is perfectly situated. An easy, 10-minute walk from the train station. Next to a parking garage with reasonable prices. Just a 200-meter walk from the old city. The hotel is situated on a quiet street with little traffic. The double windows do an excellent job of keeping street sounds out. The backside of the house is very quiet. As I was working in my room, this was ideal for me. So, you have all the facilities of the city, but the quietness of the countryside. Excellent kitchen facilities: fridge, freezer, cups, plates, cutlery, coffee machine, water boiler, pots and pans for cooking, free olive oil and spices. Free coffee and tea. A hotel breakfast is not necessary, because a one-minute walk takes you to places where you can have tea and coffee and sandwiches, of course, with the friendly north-Portuguese service. At very reasonable prices. Do you want to do your own cooking? Local shops are a short walk away, and various supermarkets are a five-minute walk away. Fast internet, nice beds, good facilities. The rooms are clearly not large, but of sufficient size. Vera and Helio take good care of their guests. During my stay, they even brought a big bowl of cherries from their country garden. If there are small problems, they solve them immediately. When I want to relax in Guimaraes, I know where to go.
