I was looking for an authentic homestay for tet to celebrate with a local family, which is exactly what I got at Halo Bay! Hien was so kind to invite me to all of her family celebrations like dinner on New Year’s Eve, traditional celebrations at midnight, as well as inviting me along to visit her family and temple on New Year’s Day! Most resturaunts were also closed for tet and so Hien cooked vegetarian meals for me as well which was so kind. She also taught me how to make egg coffee! Beyond all those wonderful things, my room was one of my favorite rooms I have ever stayed in! It was so magical and had the best vibes and so much natural light! I HIGHLY recommend coming to stay with Hien and her family and wish I could have stayed for longer❤️

Despite not knowing much english you got the sense that the staff were really trying to make my experience enjoyable but unfortunately they were behind from the start. The traditional Vietam breakfast was superb. They arranged a trip back to Hanoi Airport at a very reasonable price for me which was very much appreciated. The location was not serviced by Grab so the owner personally drove me on his bike for a Night excursion cruise. That too was much appreciated.
