Excellent location, very clean and airy! I booked one of their private rooms and it was more comfortable than I expected from a hostel room.

Truly enjoyed my stay at the Oasis Hostel! It has all your basic necessities while being literally on the beach at an unbeatable cost! Common areas were nice, open air area where you could mix and mingle with other travelers or relax in a hammock. We even had a sloth stroll through the common area one afternoon. A shared kitchen with community fridge, stove, pots, pans and utensils to eat on a budget. The mosquito nets and personal fan on each bed was a nice touch. Fresh water and hot showers. The new owners have given this slice of paradise the TLC it deserves. And all the staff and volunteers were super helpful and sweet! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an adventure in Puerto Viejo!

The ambience location and staff/people here really made it a great stay. We only stayed here 2 nights but spent many nights here hanging out before our stay. Highly recommend.

It was clean and everything in order, kitchen was well equipped and easy to cook

Location is great, not in the center of town but a very close walk or bike ride. I loved renting a bike, it’s easy to explore all over the place. I really loved how this hostel has a tab that you pay at the end of your stay instead of needing to pay for everything upfront and separately. The staff are fantastic conscious cocreators and will do what they can to make you feel at home. Very nice lobby area people liked to hang out in, hanging with the staff, hostel residents and furry friends. Stay at La Ruka if it feels resonant, the field of the hostel attracts amazing heart-full and trustworthy people. I felt very safe leaving even valuables in shared spaces. They also have different fruit trees they welcome you to pick from!

Very close to the beach, restaurants and party venues. Quiet and safe, friendly staff, good vibe.

One of our favorite hostels. I traveled with my boyfriend this week. The hostel itself is located literally in the jungle, about 6-10 minute walk from the beach. It’s not located in Puerto Viejo itself it’s a bit outside, but we enjoyed the quiet. To get to Puerto we rented bikes (15 min ride) and quads (7 min ride). In the hostel the vibes are great, the owners made everyone feel like family. It was important to them that the place is of high quality- clean, and that you personally feel comfortable! I would love to come again, thank you!!
