What a lovely stay! It felt like home and I met incredible people there. The dinners were great as well and Gaspard is such a kind and nice host. The lodge is located a bit out of town but there is a good shuttle system to take you to town/slopes. I only stayed a couple of nights but it feels like I was there much longer ✨

Absolutely outstanding stay! I had an incredible experience at A Lucky Hostel. The hostel has such a warm, authentic Japanese atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. Brand new building for the dorms and rooms that was spotless and diligently maintained. Having a private onsen on-site was an absolute dream after long days on the slopes. The beds were exceptionally comfortable — plush blankets, great pillows. The free shuttle service to the ski resorts made the whole trip effortless. What truly made this stay unforgettable, though, was Max, the owner. He is genuinely one of the kindest and most helpful hosts I’ve ever met. When my snowboarding bag went missing, Max went far beyond what anyone could expect. He personally drove to the shipping transfer station to search for it and even had a friend follow up later. When we thought the bag might be lost, he quickly arranged a full rental gear setup so I wouldn’t miss a single day of riding. That level of care and dedication is incredibly rare. Thanks to Max, what could have been a stressful situation turned into a story of amazing hospitality. And the best part — my bag eventually showed up! I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Property was spotless and extremely close to everything. The best part of the stay was the owner. In an emergency scenario where I lost my phone, the owner lended me a large sum of money and organised a staff member to get me a replacement phone. If it wasn’t for him I would have been in serious trouble. Couldn’t rate him and the accommodation higher

The location is very convenient, just a few minutes walk to Tsugaike Gondola station. Every morning there is a shuttle at 7:45 to Norikura/Cortina(need to sign in before 22:00), and also to the resorts in Hakuba Village at a later time. Best lodge for powder chasing.
