Perched above Albania's last undeveloped stretch of Adriatic coastline, Kallmi View is a two-room adults-only eco retreat where the sea is literally in front of your door. This is not a hotel — it's a family-run sanctuary on a former military coast that stayed pristine precisely because no one was allowed in. Kallmi was a closed military zone until 1991. That enforced isolation meant the rocky coastline, the pines, the silence — all survived. We were the first family to build here, and we've kept it small on purpose: two private rooms, one philosophy. Slow down. Wake up to the Adriatic a few steps from your terrace. No alarms needed — the sun sets directly in front of you (west-facing), and the stars at night are the kind you stopped seeing years ago at home. Telescope available. Breakfast is homemade. Dinner is whatever came from the sea that morning — the grilled octopus alone justifies the trip. Every meal uses olive oil from our family estate, Kallmi Estate, pressed from trees that have been in our family for four generations. The road to get here is rough for the last stretch — that's a feature, not a bug. It's why your neighbours won't be bus tourists. Best for: Couples. Slow travellers. Nature lovers. We are a couple who have built this place from scratch in 2004 and realised a life-long dream by doing so. By hosting people from all over the world in the land of our ancestors where we built this corner of paradise we feel immense joy and happiness. Every plant and stone is put with the most care and thought behind it. This is more a home than rooms to let out for tourists.

Kallmi is a former military zone 3km from Durrës city centre — close enough to reach in minutes, far enough to feel completely isolated. Rocky Adriatic coastline, no crowds, no noise. West-facing so you get full sunsets directly from your terrace. Stars visible at night due to zero light pollution. Rough road on the final stretch — manageable in any car at low speed, and worth every metre.
