Summer In summer, the Pitztal is a paradise for active vacationers. From Haus Sauberbach, you can enjoy beautiful mountain hikes, mountain biking, climbing, or relaxing by clear mountain lakes. The surrounding villages offer cozy terraces, traditional mountain huts, and authentic Tyrolean hospitality. Autumn In autumn, the mountains transform into a colorful painting. Golden forests, crisp mornings, and clear views make this season perfect for peaceful walks and enjoying local specialties. The atmosphere is calm and pure – ideal for truly unwinding. We are Lonieke and Frank, and it is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Haus Sauberbach – our dream come true in beautiful Austria. The name of our house was not chosen by chance: Sauberbach is the literal translation of Frank's last name, Schoonderbeek. Coincidentally, our house is also located right next to a sparkling mountain stream. It had to be that way. For years we have shared a wish: to one day start our own small-scale holiday accommodation in Austria. After a search full of beautiful places and visits, we ended up in the idyllic hamlet of Ritzenried, right in the enchanting Pitztal. There we found the house that we immediately knew: this is it. A place that touches you even before you have fully stepped out. “Why Austria?”, we often hear. Frank always responds with a counter-question: “Have you ever been there?” Those who say "yes" understand the feeling immediately. And those who say "no," we cordially invite to come and experience what makes Austria so special. For us, it is the perfect combination of majestic mountains that we miss in the Netherlands, our love for snow and winter sports ⛷️ and the surprisingly beautiful, sunny summers. Lonieke used to go to Carinthia often, while Frank partly grew up in Fieberbrunn. No wonder our very first conversation was about skiing, mountains, and Austria. Not much later we asked each other: “Why don't we emigrate?” With Haus Sauberbach, we want to create a warm, hospitable place where you can enjoy peace, nature, adventure, and everything that makes Austria so special.
