Adventure Bay Beach House is a new, contemporary and thoughtfully designed 2 bedroom (kingsize beds), 2 bathroom home in arguably the best location in Adventure Bay. Overlooking the bay, it has stunning beach and ocean views from every room. The 3km stretch of beach is just a few metres from the gate. The famous Pennicott Wilderness centre, boat trips and seafood restaurant (day time only) are a short walk away. The house is quiet and private on 6 acres of LAND FOR WILDLIFE forest and native gardens. Its not unusual to have wallabies hop right onto the verandah and peer through the windows! Every afternoon, they emerge from the forest behind the house, coming right past on their way down to nibble on the the grass below. SINGLE BED OPTIONS: ON REQUEST, the king size beds are separable into 2 singles for an extra fee (per bedroom) which will be invoiced/payable separately. Maximum guests are 4 plus infants with own cot/bedding. Major local attractions, beaches, tours and National Park walks are all close by.
The owners are world-sailors who have chosen Bruny as their island escape. Having been in the international and Australian yacht chartering world for 40 years, the house is tastefully decorated with a nautical, sometimes quirky theme! There's even a vintage piano. Their lifetime of making sure guests have everything they need to feel comfortably at home is reflected in the personal touches that you'll find in this house. Adventure Bay Beach House is semi-off the grid and is self-sufficient with its own purified rainwater supply and enviro-waste treatment system. The next stage of the house will be to become energy independent.
Adventure Bay is known as 'The Bay of History'. Captain Cook and Captain Bligh and the French explorers like Bruni d'Entrecasteaux, after whom the island is named, made frequent visits. The Bligh Museum (close by) has an astounding collection of National importance. The Adventure Bay General Store (IGA) carries a good stock of everything needed. There are 2 local restaurants open during the day.
