Nestled in the heart of Sandy Point discover our charming beach holiday home Black Taigh. Our small but cozy home offers a unique opportunity to unwind and relax. On an elevated block, the home is accessed up a set of stairs from the car port. Once inside it provides a warm and inviting atmosphere with comfortable furnishings, woodfire, fully equipped kitchen, and all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. As the sun sets, stroll to the ‘Warabar’ at the Surf Life Saving Club to take in the stunning views, gather at home for a BBQ, or relax with a glass of wine and stargaze on the deck. Please note: LINEN AND TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED. Guests must bring linen (sheets, pillowcases, doona covers) and towels. Black Taigh accommodates up to 8 guests in 3 bedrooms (1 x double bedroom, 1 x queen bedroom and a bunkroom with 3 single bunks and a single trundle). While the house can technically sleep up to 8 guests due to the bunk beds, it is best suited for a maximum of 6 adults. The top bunks are designed with children in mind and are not recommended for adult use. Firewood is not provided - it can be purchased at several locations locally. Please Note: During high-demand periods, Sandy Point may experience occasional power outages. Please understand this is beyond our control. The town relies on bore & tank water and septic systems for water and waste management. Plumbed water in the kitchen is filtered tank water suitable for drinking. The bathroom water is sourced from a bore and is not suitable for drinking.

We live in Melbourne with our two children and enjoy escaping the city for the tranquillity of Sandy Point and Wilsons Prom whenever we can. Black Taigh is our home away from home, a place to unplug, rest, swim and spend time with family and friends. Black Taigh is situated just 150m’s from the Park Avenue beach track that takes you straight to the pristine sandy shores and crystal-clear waters of Waratah Bay, with stunning views to Wilsons Prom. Wake up to the sound of gentle waves and experience the magic of spotting Australian wildlife right on your doorstep. Black Taigh is located 35mins drive from the entrance to Wilsons Prom where there is so much to see and do, from wildlife spotting and hiking to swimming at Tidal River or relaxing on one of the many beautiful beaches. For the adventurous spirits, the beach and Shallow Inlet offer a wide array of water sports and fishing opportunities, so pack your surfboard, paddleboard, kayak or bring your boat. With the beach a short stroll away enjoy swimming, beachcombing, sunbathing, and building sandcastles during the day. There's something for everyone. Explore the art deco Fish Creek Hotel nearby for a relaxing pub meal or combine wine tasting with lunch at the Waratah Hills Vineyard. We will share further details with guests about the closest supermarkets on route to the area. For any last-minute items or the odd beachside ice cream the Sandy Point General Store has you covered.
