The Host is a retired teacher and retired lawyer, 76 year old and speaks English, Malay, Indonesian and Mandarin Chinese. He was a graduate from the University of Malaysia in 1977, has a teacher's diploma for Secondary Schools and was a school teacher with the Education Department of WA until his retirement in 2000. He was admitted to the Local Bar in 2003 and is now no longer a practicing lawyer. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Murdoch University School of Law 2002.

It is named after the botanical title of a small blue lily, Dianella revoluta, - was plentiful in the area prior to residential development. 2) A number of small parks in Dianella and a large regional open space. Vicinity Centres Dianella is the major shopping centre in the suburb, with several smaller local stores with shopping centres in Morley Galleria and Mirrabooka Shopping Centre.
