Neighborhood info

The birthplace of the Royal Flying Doctors Service, launched in the 1920s, and destination of the first Qantas flight, history buffs will enjoy the John Flynn Place Museum and other heritage attractions. Learn how Flynn harnessed the emerging technology of pedal radio to pioneer outback communication. Head out to Mary Katheen Mine and ghost town to learn more about Cloncurry’s mining culture. The town comes alive every August with the annual Curry Merry Muster, bringing rodeo action, cattle comps and country music. It’s the Aussie outback at its best!
