Nice spacious cabins and extremely quiet. I liked that people had to park outside the cabin area and back vehicles in so there was minimal noise in the morning. The cabins are sound proof so lovely and quiet with a nice big desk to work at.

We stay at the Cloncurry Caravan Park all the time when we travel, its clean and comfy, perfect for families. This instance my youngets left his pillow and toy behind, I message them told them when I would be back through to pickup and the staff had it ready for me.

What Guests Said About Cloncurry:

Fantastic supermarket in Cloncurry.

Fantastic supermarket in Cloncurry. We loved the markets - a great variety of interesting stalls. The lookout was spectacular at sunset. Fun to drive to Mt Isa for the day. If you are going to Mary Kathleen the road to the actual mine site is absolutely dreadful & only go if you have a vehicle with good clearance it is very rough.

Cloncurry was an unexpected gem.

Cloncurry was an unexpected gem. Cloncurry unearthed (at tourist information) and ohn Flynn Place Museum and Art Gallery are good value. Chinaman Creek Dam is a great place to watch sun up or sun down. Just to chill out and bird watch, if that's your thing. Mary Kathleen mine, although 4wd it's not too far from Cloncurry and worth the drive . We checked it out on our way to Mt Isa. Corella Dam & Clem Walton is only 55km, an easy day trip. You can swim or fish in the dam or free camp. We would happily stay again if travelling to the outback.

The Visitors Information Centre was well set up and worth a visit especially if you are interested in Australian history. The on-site restaurant at the Wagon Wheel Motel was great with a good range of choices.

Cloncurry had a nice feel to it, and a lot more to do than the short amount of time we had allocated. We used it as a stopover between Winton and the Northern Territory not expecting to find much to do. In hindsight, two nights would have been great. We ate at the Post Office Hotel - although the atmosphere was basic, the food was fantastic, and they were able to cater to a coeliac - one of the few restaurants on our road trip that had gluten free chips cooked in a separate fryer! Nearly made my 12yo son cry with happiness :). Would give the premix cocktail a miss though and stick to the on-tap beers
