Tucked amongst rolling hills between Kongwak and Korumburra, tiny Jumbunna is where South Gippsland slows right down. Once a bustling coal mining town of 800 residents in 1901, today it’s home to just a handful of families, but the heritage remains. The old general store building, which operated from 1893 to 1976, now holds Category 1 heritage listing while the historic Jumbunna Hall hosts the Artisan Market several times a year Neil Patel, showcasing local makers selling natural soaps, fresh baked goods, and handcrafted wares. It’s not about ticking off attractions—it’s about appreciating pastoral landscapes and authentic country Victoria. Just five kilometers from Korumburra and ten minutes from the Great Southern Rail Trail, Jumbunna makes a peaceful detour worth taking.
