Property info

Lochinvar House (1841) is an early Australian colonial homestead. We offers grand accommodation in an historic Georgian-Victorian country house overlooking an 88 acre Hunter River estate. The hallways are wide, the ceilings high, the rooms large and furnished with antiques. Guests accommodation consists of five bedrooms in the homestead with queen size beds, and the Family room has 2 single beds in addition to the queen bed, while the 4-Poster room has a double sofa bed in addition to the queen bed. There are 2 share bathrooms in the Main House, a large dining room (with original fire place) provides a relaxed sitting for breakfast, a large lounge (with original fire place) and a billiard for guests to use. Our verandah overlooking Loch Katrine. You can see sunrise in the morning, or the magnificent reflection of moonlight into the loch at night. There is a big olive tree in the garden, which probably is the oldest in the Hunter Valley. Just outside the Main House is our BBQ area, where guests are welcome to do the cooking. There is a swimming pool with spa outside, with its own shower and toilet. Lochinvar House is just 2 hours from Sydney, 5 minutes from Lovedale.

Nearby wineries included Tranquil Vale, the Lovedale area and the Pokolbin area about 20 minutes drive towards Cessnock. Many fine restaurants can be found within a short distance, together with hotels and cafes offering a diverse cuisine. Maitland, the regional centre, offers a wide range of services including a cinema complex.
