Maunder Cottage sits on a heritage property in Aldinga Township. Cox Cottage, our home is adjacent to the maunder cottage and was built in 1842. Gabriel Cox built a home here and donated land in the township for the church. Aldinga has blossomed into a hub with a great food culture, an appreciation of wine and an exceptional new brewery in the main street. We are minutes from the beautiful Port Willunga Beach (with the award winning restaurant THE STAR OF GREECE) and we are on the door step of some of Australia's most outstanding wineries. The township itself also has an Aldi if you need last minute groceries. The cottage offers a full kitchen.And the lounge has a combustion heater (that is available for use during winter) The garden of the property has been cultivated and maintained with the express desire to attract wildlife and wild birds. The bird life in the garden is prolific and varied. It is important to state Corellas are one seasonal bird that can create bird noise at dusk as they settle into their roost for the night. They leave in the morning also. It is part of being in the location we are, a heritage location with old gums. Close by is Willunga, another beautiful town holding a wonderful farmers market every Saturday with great produced and a fantastic atmosphere. We are also very lucky the Tour Down Under bike race passes by metres from our home each January. It would be great to meet you and thank you.

My name is John. Maunder Cottage sat on our property empty for quite some time after our adult children left home. After careful thought we decided to renovate the cottage and seek to offer an experience in our township that we have loved for over 20 years now. We feel blessed to live where we do and want to share this with our guests. As hosts who live onsite,we wish to make your stay as relaxing, enjoyable and fulfilling as possible. If there is anything we can do to make your staff more rewarding we will endeavour to do that. This is something we are passionate about. We are family orientated so our hope is we can offer this experience and still take care of our Mum's as that is very important to us.

Being based in Aldinga Township is an ideal location for a great many iconic places to visit during your stay. The cottage is very close to several beautiful beaches. Moana Beach, Maslins Beach, Port Willunga and Silver Sands are the ones closest to the Cottage. We are also on the door step to McLaren Vale, the home to some of the best wineries in the state. Slightly further afield are places like Victor Harbour, Hahndorf and the Adelaide Hills but still perfectly positioned for day trips from the Cottage. In Sellicks Beach is the Bhuddist statue and retreat which is a beautiful site on the coast. Walking up to the township is a two minute walk. There you will find coffee shops, an outstanding bakery, the newly renovated Aldinga Pub has affordable and great meals. We also have an amazing Vietnamese restaurant The Little Rickshaw which offers truly beautiful food. There is the Keg and Barrel offering burgers and ribs or you can stroll a bit further to Kick Back Brewery which offers locally made outstanding beer and truly great "beer" food. There are also quirky retails stores like Miss Gladys Sym Choon. It truly is a bit of a treasure in Aldinga. Our aim to maximize your stay.
