We built the Boomerangs in 1997. We wanted to offer something unique to visitors. The idea of the Boomerang shape came from our builder who suggested we use a curved shape to take in the panoramic views. Our cottages are surrounded by 3 acres of landscaped gardens which attract native birds. The high windows allow for 180 degree day and night views, the stars in this part of the world are beautiful.
We love living in the Otways. We are able to go bush walking in the beautiful countryside that surrounds us. We also like to kayak along the Aire River and in the ocean on calmer days. Mark is a surfer who can cope with the wild waves at Johanna beach. Roz practices yoga to unwind and is also a qualified masseuse. Massage is available on site in our purpose built massage studio. We both love taking Blue and Tommy Red for walks along Johanna Beach in all seasons.
We live right on the Great Ocean Road a popular drive for visitors to our region. Johanna Beach is our favourite beach in Australia. It is well known for surfing and fishing. It is always changing with the tides and seasons. Where we live is known as the Otways which is an area of temperate rainforest, there are beautiful waterfalls and rainforest walks on our doorstep. We are close to the 12 Apostles as well as Cape Otway Lightstation and the Otway Fly Treetop walk. Lavers Hill is the nearest town to us and we are so fortunate to have a fantastic, fine dining restaurant just ten minutes drive away. The Perch at Lavers Hill.
