Located in the peaceful seaside town of American River, it offers a tranquil marine environment along with a variety of recreational activities.
Hi, my name is Ingrid, and I'll be your Lazy Shanty host! I'm very excited to introduce you to this little corner of American River paradise. I wanted a name that matches exactly how you feel the moment you step through the front door - completely unhurried. Of course, our look might get a little refreshed from time to time, but the peaceful Kangaroo Island magic remains the same. Come over, switch off, and do absolutely nothing with us!
The neighborhood was inspired by the lives of fishermen who traveled from shore to shore in the 1800s. These fishermen would spend a short time by the American River before heading back out to sea. The Oyster Farm and the small port capture the spirit of the town, which, while not completely devoid of activity, remains secluded from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The Oyster Farm's rustic style offers a charming seaside view, enhancing its appealing fresh seafood menu. The port also provides space for sightseeing, fostering a sense of community life and seaside activities.
