The Outlook: Private Hilltop Glamping Escape to your own private hilltop retreat with panoramic countryside views. The Outlook features two luxury 5m bell tents fully set up to sleep up to 8 guests—and the entire site is always 100% yours, with absolutely no sharing. Flexible Spaces: Perfect for a romantic couple's getaway or a group trip. Need more space? We can provide 2 extra beds/bedding, or you can bring your own additional tents (fees apply). All-Inclusive Comfort: Premium linens and towels are provided. Includes diesel heaters for winter, a private Joolca Hottap off-grid hot water system, private flushing toilet, a large undercover shelter, and a portable sink station. (Water is non-potable). Joolca Hottap Off-grid Hot Water System - is designed to elevate the natural incoming water temperature by a maximum of 35–40°C (63–72°F). It provides a comfortable, eco-friendly rinse rather than a standard piping-hot city shower—perfect for connecting with nature. Firewood Options: Forage for free around the property, or purchase a pre-chopped stack of firewood. Pet-Friendly 🐾: We welcome one small dog, in one of our designated tents.. Please note the following guidelines to help us keep the space beautiful for everyone: Crate Required: To help keep our tents pristine, dogs are required to sleep inside a clean, owner-provided crate while in the tent. Sleep-Time Only: Dogs are only permitted inside the tent during sleeping hours and must remain in their crate while inside. Pet Stay Fee & Bond: There is a small pet cleaning fee per stay to help us keep the tent pristine for future guests. In addition, a refundable bond is required prior to arrival, which will be fully refunded right after your departure as long as the tent is left undamaged and smelling fresh. Accessible by 2WD in dry weather; 4WD may be required in the wet. Pack your bags and leave the laundry behind—unforgettable sunrises and starry nights await!
Your hosts are Brian and Vicky, and we’re thrilled to welcome you to our piece of paradise. Brian is the fifth generation of the Dutfield family to own and manage Stockyard Farm, a place deeply rooted in our hearts and history. Our story began back in the late 1980s when we met in Leeton while Brian was attending Yanco Agricultural High School and College. After marrying in 1994 and welcoming our two beautiful children, Matthew and Rebecca, the pull of the family land brought us back home to Stockyard in late 2003. Brian has been proudly managing the property ever since. While Brian runs the daily farm operations, Vicky balances a full-time career as a registered Development and Building Certifier with the Dubbo Regional Council—though she’s always eager to dive into farm life on the weekends! For us, nothing beats the farm lifestyle: the endless serenity, the breathtaking views, and the incredible local wildlife. Over the years, friends visiting us would constantly remark on what a magical place this is. Their appreciation inspired us to create "The Stockyard Experience" and open up our farm so others can disconnect, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of the land just as much as we do. We can’t wait to share it with you!
Location & Regional Day Trips: Right on your doorstep: 5 mins to Burrendong Botanic Gardens & 7 mins to Lake Burrendong for swimming, kayaking, and the local kiosk. 30 mins: Explore the fascinating Wellington Caves. 1 hour: Head to Dubbo for the Taronga Western Plains Zoo and Old Dubbo Gaol, or visit Orange for its beautiful Botanic Gardens and exceptional wineries. 1.5 hours: Spend a day tasting award-winning drops in the world-class Mudgee wine region.
