Boasting commanding views along Main Beach to the Gold Coast, and overlooking the Coral Sea, Whale Watch Ocean Beach Resort offers 40 expansive, fully self-contained holiday apartments at Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island. Each style of apartment within the complex has a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer, flat screen tv and lounge and dining areas as well as balconies and undercover car parking. Guests are welcome to make the most of our well-equipped fitness center, games room, heated outdoor pool, spa pool and barbecue area. With varying aspects of the pristine natural environment within the grounds and surrounding the resort, Whale Watch is a safe haven for local fauna, like the kangaroos, curlews and bandicoots who frequent the grounds every day to the delight of our guests. Watch whales from your balcony and the headlands from June to November and enjoy the ever-changing seascapes all year round. North Stradbroke Island is accessed by vehicle ferry or passenger water taxi from Cleveland in Brisbane, and we are conveniently located near the impressive Gorge Walk and Point Lookout Surf Club on Main Beach.

We have been managing the property since March 2025 and have made several improvements around grounds, the pool, and Reception with the addition of a Resort shop. Our staff enjoy making sure all our guests have a wonderful stay here by making sure there is a high standard of cleaning within the apartment and around the property.

Whalewatch Resort is perfectly positioned on Point Lookout where you will see and touch all the wonderful attractions of our beautiful Island. Immediately you arrive at our resort you will feel part of the untouched nature! Although our Resort overlooks the many kilometers of beautiful beaches and national parks on three sides of us we have access directly to the beach (simple 5 minute easy-walk through the National Beach located beside our Resort). Our Resort offers fantastic views of Main Beach and only a quick 5 minute easy walk from your apartment through National Park finds you on Main Beach and the Surf Club. The board North Gorge Board Walk (A must to do) is found again only 5 -10 minutes walk. Although there is much to do at "Straddie "we regularly find many of our guests are very content to just enjoy the perfect viewing the Humpback Whales on their annual migration North and also on their return South, the kids will love seeing dolphins, turtles and manta rays play close to the beach. For your convenience, we're just a quick 5-minute walk from charming cafes, restaurants, unique specialty shops, and local grocery stores. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or a mix of both, Whalewatch Resort offers everything you need to create unforgettable memories.
