49 Steps is situated directly on one of the most beautiful sandy safe swimming beaches on Barbados' west coast. It is only a 15 minute walk or 3 minute bus ride to Holetown which has a large supermarket, Lime grove Shopping Centre with an array of quality brand stores, various eateries and a cinema. The charming Chattel Village with trendy boutiques, and local curio shops is also well worth a visit. Holetown offers Italian, Sushi, Indian and Fusion cuisine and numerous character bars in town and along the water front. Alternatively you can just stroll along the beach from the apartment and have lunch or dinner at Jujus Beach Bar or for a more 'formal ambience' the renowned Lonestar Restaurant, both offering spectacular beachside dining. Private or party daytime and sunset charter catamarans are a great way to see other parts of this beautiful island from the sea as well as swimming with turtles and snorkelling over wrecks which house many different species of tropical fish. St Nicholas Abbey, Harrison Caves, Hunts Gardens, the Animal Flower Cave and Bathsheba on the beautiful rugged Atlantic side are also high on the list but more easily reached with a rental vehicle.
