Villa Dourada Guesthouse is a family-managed guesthouse set in a historic house from 1916 in Santa Teresa, one of Rio de Janeiro’s most cultural and atmospheric neighbourhoods. The property offers private suites with private bathrooms, a tropical garden, veranda, patio and outdoor areas where guests can relax between exploring the city. The house combines the charm of old Santa Teresa with a calm, welcoming atmosphere, surrounded by plants, birds and views of the city. Villa Dourada is a good choice for guests who want to experience Rio beyond the beach areas, close to the cultural life of Santa Teresa, the historic tram, local ateliers, viewpoints, bars and restaurants.
Villa Dourada is managed by the owners, Flávia and Thomas, together with their family. We enjoy welcoming guests personally and sharing practical tips about Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro and the local surroundings. Our goal is to offer a warm, relaxed and authentic stay in a real Santa Teresa home, with privacy, personal attention and a strong connection to the house, garden and neighbourhood. Our son Sean and Hatchi, the family’s American Hairless Terrier, are also part of the family atmosphere of Villa Dourada.
Santa Teresa is one of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic and artistic neighbourhoods, known for its historic houses, cobbled streets, cultural atmosphere, restaurants, cafés, ateliers and beautiful city views. Villa Dourada is well located for guests who want to explore both Santa Teresa and nearby areas such as Lapa, Glória and Centro. The famous Selarón Steps, the Santa Teresa tram route and several cultural attractions are within easy reach. The neighbourhood has a unique mix of history, art, local life and nature. It is a great choice for guests who want to experience a more authentic and charming side of Rio de Janeiro, away from the standard hotel experience.
