The owner was exceptionally helpful! Our 5 year old great grandson left a very important gift in his bed. Upon finding the item, the owner immediately notified us and offered to mail it to us in the USA. We are very grateful for his kindness.

Chamcook Forest Lodge is a large Victorian styled home which is part of a retired, traditional farm located on a forested ridge at the base of Chamcook mountain. Built between 1884 and 1897, the house overlooks a spectacular view of Ministers Island and Passamaquoddy Bay. In past years, this home was a popular heritage resort for many visitors coming to in St. Andrews. Relax and enjoy our home either in the large dining and sitting room, or upstairs in one of the spacious bedrooms, all laid out with recently imported solid wood furniture from Brazil and Bolivia. Guests also have a porch and sunroom to rest. The house is quiet with the family living quarters being separate from the guests.
The house is located a secure distance from the highway and is surrounded by fields and forests where guests can walk and play. Our pets are very friendly and well accustomed to visitors. The dog may initially bark, but will then likely met you at the car door.
Stroll past the quaint stone Anglican church along the abandoned railway trail (100 m away) which crosses the Saint John road going to the pristine freshwater Lake Chamcook. A stream flows out to feed the Atlantic Salmon Federation Hatchery and in-stream Museum where guests can see large Atlantic salmon swimming, all accessible from the trail. The golf courses, the town wharf from which whale-watching and sight-seeing boats and sea kayaks depart, tours of Ministers Island, the sights of St. Andrews - with its shops, restaurants, museums and churches, the Kingsbrae Flower gardens, W.C. O’Neill Arena complex - are all within 5 minutes drive. Reservations for local tours can be made from our home.
