My wife, Melinda, and I love to travel and meet new people. I am from BC and Melinda is from Saskatchewan. We have been living on the East Coast since 2008 and have made it our home. We are excited to be hosts welcoming people to Balmoral Mills, Nova Scotia. We enjoy hiking, gravel biking, camping, back country camping, snow shoeing and pretty much anything outdoors.

Field & Fern is in Balmoral Mills, a 12-minute drive from Tatamagouche. Our winterized cabins sit one minute from the Waugh River, with our driveway across from Waugh River Stables offering guided trail rides. Nearby trails provide year-round hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledding, and ATVing. Ski Wentworth is a short drive away. Visit stunning Drysdale Falls (5 minutes) or walk to the beautiful waterways surrounding our cabins. Tatamagouche features excellent restaurants: Big Al's, The Nook & Cranny, The Chowder House, Dorado's Pizza, and the famous Tatamagouche Brewery. Main Street offers charming shops, plus a gas station, Foodland, NSLC, and Robin's Donuts. Don't miss Tatamagouche Ice Creamery (beside Dorado's) for amazing handmade ice cream, or Appleton's Chocolate Factory for chocolate lovers! Visit the Train Station gift shop and café anytime. Summer Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays feature early evening live music. Check out the weekend market at creamery square. The area boasts beautiful beaches like Rushton's and Blue Sea Beach.
